my mom got into a fight with a lady and she amiably said she is getting a friendship divorce.
We were like why? why not just stop hanging out with my mom?
besides you aren't really good friends with my mom at all.

but by doing this ... making it formal she made an impression on everyone who heard it

it gave it real power. the formality became a conduit of energy.

energy always gets an emotional reaction from those wheo receive it
emotions establish a new pattern in your brain

it creates the strongest memories, the lasting changes in thought and behavior
